More than Safe: Cultures of Care, Connection and Coherence

About this Seminar

A psychologically safe workplace isn’t one where nothing goes wrong, it’s one where people know they won’t be left alone when it does.

When employees don’t feel safe to speak up, take risks, or ask for help, performance suffers and potential stays hidden. But when psychological health and safety is built into the design of your culture, everything changes.

Drawing on the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace and grounded in the everyday realities of modern work, this session unpacks the unseen impact of culture, leadership, workload, and respect on employee wellbeing. Through personal stories, relatable insights, and researchbacked strategies, we’ll uncover how even small shifts in how we work together can ripple into lasting impact. Leaders aim to champion a safe and healthy workplace. It’s often the unintentional behaviours and missed moments that erode this for teams.

Real safety is not the absence of setbacks and conflict; it’s the presence of trust when in the eye of the storm.

About Steve Langer

Steven Langer’s authority is rooted in leading people and systems inside some of the most demanding human environments in the economy.

Over more than 15 years, Steven has held frontline through executive responsibility in complex public and organizational settings marked by sustained strain, public accountability, and competing expectations, where performance, engagement, and retention were always visibly at stake.

Steven has seen firsthand what happens when organizations rely on personal resilience instead of intentional design, how constant urgency quietly erodes judgment, and how disengagement builds long before people leave. He understands why strong strategies often stall when they collide with human limits, not because people lack commitment, but because systems were never built to hold the weight placed on them.

Today, Steven is a keynote speaker, author and workplace performance strategist. He works with leaders and teams facing similar conditions across sectors. His work helps organizations recognize early warning signs of capacity breakdown, redesign how pressure is applied, and build structures that support sustained execution. Steven builds teams that perform under pressure and deliver results without burning out.
