FASCIANATING! Why You Have Pain & What Myofascia Has to Do With It

About this Seminar

Your body was not built to sustain the positions dental work demands—whether you are in the operatory or at a desk. The missing link is the myofascial system—your body’s complex network of connective tissue that governs tension, posture, and movement, yet is not addressed in dental training. This blind spot often turns everyday working positions into long-term pain and dysfunction.

In this Fascianating interactive lecture, Kathleen Keller guides the dental team through one of the body’s most overlooked—and clinically relevant—systems. She reveals how repetitive strain, forward-flexed spinal positioning, internally rotated arm patterns, and prolonged static postures negatively impact health, function, and career longevity. Participants will identify key myofascial lines and patterns shaped by operatory and desk work and understand why traditional exercise approaches often fall short.

Through guided movement and practical strategies, participants will learn how to reduce tension, improve spinal mobility, and activate their functional, full-body myofascial core system—from tongue to feet. By the end of the session, participants will understand why they hurt and what to do about it, with practical tools to move with greater ease, reduce strain, and protect the longevity of their careers.
