About this Seminar

The course "Challenges in Digital Dentistry" will demonstrate issues, clinicians and labs can and do encounter when using digital equipment and programs. 


The objective is to offer tips and tricks that will clarify some of the mysteries surrounding intraoral scanning and CAD/CAM technology and to increase the level of success when using digital dentistry. 


Sharing some of the insights into practices and habits that will either create or eliminate difficulties for both the practitioners and the lab technicians. The course is meant for dentists and dental assistance alike, since many office will share the digital workflow activities among the members of the clinic.

About Rick Kroener, RDT, MDT

Rick Kroener began his career in the dental field in Essen, Germany in 1982. He received his certified Dental Technician Journeyman in 1986 and Master Dental Technician in 1988. He moved to Canada in 1990 and became a certified Dental Technologist in 1992. 

Rick has been working in all departments of dental technology, from removable and fixed restorations, precision attachments and implants, orthodontics and partial facial prosthesis to digital designing and fabrication of all types of dental restorations. 

He began working at the College of Dentistry at the University of Saskatchewan in 2011, where he was given the opportunity to assist with the education of dental students. In 2017, Rick was offered a full-time position at the College of Dentistry where he has been working and assisting with the lab related lectures and chair-side support as well as teaching most aspects of Digital Dentistry and CAD/CAM procedures.
